About Robert
The Founding Principal of Simons Real Estate Group, Robert was the chief architect of its investment strategy since the company’s inception. He devised investment and asset management initiatives for a wide array of asset types that included medical, office and industrial properties, condominium conversion, and residential subdivision development.
Robert began his career in real estate in 1961, with the founding of a residential brokerage company. In 1987, he initiated and directed the purchase of a national portfolio of commercial properties with GECC. His companies have developed, owned and managed a wide range of property types, including downtown and suburban office, medical, industrial, and retail.
Throughout his career, Robert assumed leadership roles in business, community, and public service organizations. He served as a director of the Y.M.C.A., a Board member of the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford, President of Hartford Hillel Foundation, a member of the Board of UCONN Cancer Research, and a member of the Board of Regents for The Bushnell Theatre. Robert was also a member of the Board of Regents at his alma mater, the University of Hartford, where he was the recipient of the Vincent B. Coffin Athletic Excellence Award.
